"The Battle"

Caitlin Cary's debut While You Weren't Looking had the cutest little bonus disc included if you were lucky enough to get an early pressing.

Caitlin Cary and Ryan Adams penned a song called "The Battle" on said disc. The two were the songwriting force behind the defunct Whiskeytown. Though it has nothing to do with war, the song's lyrics have prompted me to think about the nature of battles and wars, and how you can win one but lose the other.
