The Grass Roots — "Live for Today"

The astute viewer of "The Office" will already know this: the character Creed Bratton is playing a fictionalized version of himself on the series. If you've seen the "Booze Cruise" episode, you might recall that Creed strapped on an axe and jammed with the band while the lead guitarist took a break.

[Update 29-OCT]: I was watching Season II over the weekend, and just realized that scene I described above was in the deleted scenes of "Booze Cruise." In addition, Creed does a talking head bit (also deleted) that talks about his history with The Grass Roots. He also deadpans that the drugs are still affecting him, and his office calls are only 90 sec. (the limit of his attention span.) Gotta love that Creed.

Fact: Creed was in a fairly popular band called The Grass Roots back in the late 1960s. They had several hits, including "Midnight Confessions" and "Live for Today".

See for yourself... that's a young Creed Bratton on the far left in the dark blue shirt, on lead guitar.

Is it just me, or is YouTube compressing the piss out of everything these days? You'll have to take my word for it... that's Creed.
